Department of Posts invites applications from meritorious Sportspersons for appointment as Postal Assistant , Sorting Assistant and Postman in the Department of Posts against the vacancies for the years 2004 to 2010 under sports quota in Kerala Postal Circle, including 7 vacancies set aside for special consideration as per the Hon. Qualifications Required :

1. Inter / 10+2 pass (60% marks and 55% for BC and 45% marks for SC / ST candidates) from recognized University  / Board of School Education / Board of Secondary Education with English as compulsory subjects. ii) Should have studied local language of the State of Kerala (ie., Malayalam or Hindi as a subject at least in Matriculation or equivalent.) for Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant Vacancies.

POSTAL / SORTING ASSISTANTS PATTERN OF EXAMINATION

    The Applicants shall be subjected to an Aptitude Test with  a total 100 marks covering the following subjects/topics. Aptitude Test will be comprising following four parts (A/B/C/D). The total duration of the Aptitude Test will be 2 Hrs. (120 minutes). There is no negative marking.

Part - A:    25 Questions on General Knowledge - Questions on Current events, Sports, History, Geography, Basic economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Science environment etc. - 25 Marks

Part - B:    25 Questions on Mathematics of matriculation standard which may cover number system, simplification, decimals, corrections, simple and compound interest, percentage, average, profit & loss, discount, mensuration, time & work and time & distance etc. - 25 Marks

Part - C:    25 Questions on English covering grammar (prepositions, adverbs, conjunction, direct / indirect speech, singular & plural, tenses, antonyms / synonyms etc. - 25 Marks

Part - D:    25 Questions on  Reasoning and Analytical Ability - 25 Marks

Age Limit:
Candidate age must be between 18 to 27 years as on 01-10-2012. (Age relaxations will be extended as per rules).

Education Qualifications :
1.Candidates must have Intermediate/10+2/12th class pass with first class marks or with 60 percent
2.Should be studied Hindi as a subject in Metriculation
2.Must have English subject in Matriculation and 12th class.

Application Fee:
1.General and OBC Candidates need to pay 200 Rupees for Examination fee and 50 rupees for Application fee
2.SC/ST Candidates no need to pay Examination fee.They have to pay only Application fee of 50 rupees for Application form and it is available at all All Head Post offices and identified Post offices in the Circles from 11-08-2012 to 25-09-2012.

Selection procedure:
Selection Process is based on the performance in Written exam(Aptitude test) and computer typing test.
 Syllabus has General knowledge, Reasoning ability, English and Maths for 100 marks. Each section having 25 marks for 25 questions.

Eligible Candidates may apply through prescribed application format available at all Head Post offices and identified Post offices in the Circles. Dully filled application form along with Copies of relevant certificates and original receipt of ACG-67/UCR issued by the identified Post Office of this Circle towards payment of Examination fee have to be sent to “Direct Recruitment Cell, New Delhi HO, New Delhi-1100010″ on or before 01-10-2012 through Speed Post/Registered Post of India Post only.
